Featuring first ever Bahasa Malaysia Live Commentary on TV

eGG Network, Southeast Asia’s first 24/7 eSports channel, will be collaborating with Garena, Riot Game’s publishing partner in this region, to broadcast the League of Legends World Championship 2016 from 30th September to 30th October 2016 with Bahasa Malaysia commentary for the very first time.

This will be the second year that eGG Network will be bringing the World Championship to TV screens following the first broadcast in 2015, which attracted nearly 3 million viewers. This year, eGG Network will be collaborating with Garena to provide dual-language commentary in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, with the latter featuring local talents Mushky, AddMaths, Lin and Ikuto to appeal to Malaysian LoL eSport fans.

League of Legends World Championship 2016 will be broadcasted live in HD starting 30th September, Friday at 7.00 am (Malaysia time) with the Group Stage happening in San Francisco, followed by the Quarter Finals in Chicago, Semi Finals in New York City and the much anticipated Finals at the world-renowned  STAPLES Centre Los Angeles.

Apart from that, eSports fans can also look forward to an electrifying performance of the Worlds 2016 official theme song by award winning hit maker, Zedd.

Lee Choong Khay, Vice President of Sports Business at Astro said, “Following the strong response to eGG Network’s first broadcast of League of Legends World Championship, we are excited to bring back the excitement with never before Bahasa Malaysia commentary to appeal to our Malaysian LoL eSport fans. Following this move, we hope to strengthen Malaysia as the home for regional eSports entertainment.”

Jason Ng, Vice President of Group Game Operations at Garena said, “We are constantly looking for ways to make eSports more accessible to a broader audience, and are thus extremely pleased to be working with Astro to offer Bahasa Malaysia commentary for this year’s League of Legends World Championship broadcast. Every sports and eSports fan knows how well-delivered commentary in their native language can add immensely to the excitement of any match, and we believe everyone tuning into this year’s broadcast will have a terrific experience.”
