Asia’s leading music, sports & entertainment industry conference, All That Matters, has announced that one of the most respected figures in the music industry will take to the stage at the ‘Business-2-Business-2-Fan’ event, which returns to Singapore from 9-14 September 2017.
Lyor Cohen is a veteran of the music industry with over 35 years’ experience and is currently serving as Global Head of Music at YouTube and Google. Seen as a global music ambassador, Cohen will take to the stage at Music Matters to share his experience and views from a distinguished career.
From legendary hip-hop manager, helping usher hip-hop from the margins of culture to the mainstream, to top label executive at Def Jam Recordings; from founding Island Def Jam Music Group, to CEO at Warner Music Group and much more, Lyor Cohen is a genuine ambassador for music and musicians.
He has restructured, merged and led labels, built careers and championed a new generation of culturally impactful artists in a career that has seen him be intimately involved in the careers of The Killers, fun., Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, The Black Keys, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Elvis Costello, Bon Jovi, Mariah Carey, Shania Twain, Ryan Adams, Nickelback, and many more.
Over 37 years from Road Manager to Label Head, to Head of YouTube Music, Lyor has seen, experienced, and led the transition from a physical business to digital consumption model. In addition to his role as Global Head of Music at YouTube and Google, he also sits on the board of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
