Disney Channel features Malaysia’s Elizabeth Tan in music video to inspire a new generation of young leaders
Disney’s newest crown princess, Elena of Avalor, will make her royal debut in the highly anticipated animated series “Elena of Avalor” on 13 November, Sunday, 11am on Disney Channel (Astro Ch 615). Set in the enchanted fairytale land of Avalor, the series tells the story of Elena, a brave and adventurous teenager who has saved her kingdom from an evil sorceress and must now learn to rule as crown princess until she is old enough to be queen. Elena’s journey will lead her to understand that her new role requires thoughtfulness, resilience and compassion, the traits of all truly great leaders.
The highly-anticipated series features original music in each episode, including Elena’s anthem “My Time”, a powerful song of empowerment and self-belief, which has been localized in Bahasa Malaysia and brought to life by popular singer Elizabeth Tan in a music video that will entertain Disney Channel audiences from 1 November.
Apart from Bahasa Malaysia, Disney Channel has also localized the song in Bahasa Indonesia, performed by Indonesian singer Chilla Kiana.
From now till 13 November, Disney Channel Asia is inviting kids in Southeast Asia to take part in a social media movement, demonstrating how Elena inspires them to rule – whether at home, in school or in their daily lives. By simply posting a photo or video to the Disney Channel Asia Facebook page (http://facebook.com/DisneyChannelAsia) and using the hashtag #RuleLikeElena, they stand to be featured on the page, as well as receive exclusive “Elena of Avalor” premiums.
“Elena of Avalor” was created by Emmy Award winner Craig Gerber, who also serves as executive producer.
