Date: 23 May 2017 | Time: 7pm – 9pm
Venue: Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre
Speech by Mr. Gyoung-Gee LIU, Vice Mayor of Seoul
“Selamat Petang!”, good evening! This is Gyoung-Gee LIU, the Vice Mayor of Seoul where 13 million tourists visit from worldwide every year.
It is truly an honour to hold <I·SEOUL·U Concert> in Kuala Lumpur, a hub city of culture, tourism, and shopping just like Seoul.
A month ago, Yang Berbahagia Datuk Mohamad Amin Nordin bin Abdul Aziz, the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur has visited Seoul and this time I came to visit Kuala Lumpur on behalf of Mr. Mayor.
I would like to thank you, Malaysian people for giving special love towards Korea.
In 2016, more than 240,000 Malaysian people have visited Korea and I believe that the popularity of the K-wave Stars took a big role on this.
Thank you, K-wave stars. And also thank you to all Malaysian people for giving love to Korean singers and actors.
In Seoul, other than K-wave culture, there are also various kinds of food, things to see and enjoy.
For example, Bamdokkaebi Night Market, Hangang Summer Festival, Seoul International Fireworks Festival, Seoul Lantern Festival. And many festivals are being held in every season.
Also there are places like N Seoul Tower, Gyeongbokgung palace and Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP).
These places have been appeared in K-Drama such as <My Love From the Star> and <The Moon Embracing the Sun>.
Right before I came to Malaysia, Sky Park Pedestrian Road has been opened in Seoul.
Due to the aging and safety issue, the bridge for the car which was built in 1970s has been renovated as a pedestrian road for people to walk on.
The road, ‘Seoullo 7017’, We believe it will be a famous touristic destination to all of you. I recommend you to experience this road when you visit Seoul.
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of time with Korean artistes today.
